Policies
and procedures are required for State licensure, Medicare
certification, and accreditation. Policies and procedures
must meet State and Federal regulations and laws as well as
professional standards. Our polices and procedures are based
on OSHA, CDC, AORN, AAMI, ASA, NFPA Codes, the Code of Federal
Regulations as well as other professional requirements and
recommendations. Well-maintained policies and procedures are
important for consistent patient care, efficient facility
management, and prevention of fines for noncompliance.
Our policies
and procedures are available on CD-ROM, computer disks, or
paper. The CD-ROM provides a system that is paperless, efficient
in maintaining revised versions, and is available to the entire
staff at the click of the mouse. The computer disks simplify
the process of making revisions since any document can be
modified on the computer. The paper form is provided in binders.
Training is provided on use, implementation, and maintenance
of the policies and procedures.

Depending
on a variety of factors, including your organizational structure,
licensure, certification, or accreditation will be required
for your facility. Licensure laws vary from state to state,
Medicare certification is required for reimbursement, and
accreditation is requested by many third-party payers during
contract negotiation. PRI can guide you through any of these
processes by assisting with applications, implementing programs,
providing in services, and preparing you for surveys.

Identifying
expectations and developing an organization philosophy to
meet those expectations are important components of successful
operations and critical to achieving financial goals. PRI
can provide guidance in the development of the mission statement,
vision, strategic plan, organizational chart, and scope of
services.

PRI has
developed an orientation program to meet the need for informed
and competent management. The program for key personnel addresses
operational decision-making, implementation of policies and
procedures, facility processes and programs as well as critical
issues and timeframes to effectively move from the start-up
phase through opening to operational management.

PRI
works with facility leaders throughout the project to meet
the requirements for State licensure, Medicare certification,
and/or accreditation. We provide the oversight necessary to
ensure that billing and managed care contracting are maximized,
compliance concerns are controlled, and conformance with regulatory
agencies is an ongoing process. PRI directs your organization
in quality performance and cost-effectiveness through utilization
of best practices.

PRI locates
and negotiates prices for new and remanufactured equipment
providing the best value for the facility's needs. Our recommendations
are based on projected utilization by participating physicians,
equipment preferences, reimbursements for procedures, and
equipment cost. We interview each physician involved in the
project to identify equipment needs and preferences. PRI reviews
your needs and makes recommendations based on the information
you provide. PRI participates in preconstruction planning
meetings, development of a detailed list of equipment and
a budget, preparation and submission of purchase orders, arrangement
for equipment delivery, installation, service, in services,
and coordination of wiring and installation schedules for
internal systems (e.g., telephone).
